    Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Cement Plant Manager to join our team in Logansport, IN.

    What You'll Get To Do


    Lead the operations and maintenance staff to ensure timely production and distribution of products within quality standards, high uniformity, and optimum production costs.


    Promote =>98% Haz waste fuels supply by working closely with Regional alternative fuels manager.

    Screen new streams of Haz Waste for safety and regulatory compliance.

    Ensures strict adherence to safety standards and builds a safety culture.

    Responsible for the development and execution of annual operating plans.

    Oversees the development and supervises the execution of Capital Expenditure plans

    Reviews cost reports to locate excessive expenses and takes necessary corrective action.

    Prepare short and long range development plans

    Establish goals that reflect continuous improvement in plant operations

    Assure environmental compliance and clean plant operations

    Works in partnership with Sales, Corporate and HTC.

    Develop and maintain effective relationships with sales and customers as appropriate.

    Proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance

    Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth; provide motivation and career enhancement for all employees

    Review requests and make decisions regarding the purchase of new equipment and supplies

    Represent the Company in the community and promote the Company's goodwill interests in community activities.

    The incumbent must understand and comply with Company compliance policies, including the Code of Business Conduct (including NAM supplements), the anti-corruption policy and the Antitrust Compliance Policy, and is required to participate in compliance training in such policies and provide disclosures and compliance certifications from time to time.

    As a manager, the incumbent is expected to require compliance with such policies by subordinates, monitor their activities for compliance and disclose incidents of non-compliance as provided by such policies.

    What We Are Looking For

    Prior experience with increasingly responsible positions within the cement industry; minimum of 10 years' experience desired.

    Previous experience managing Haz Waste programs

    Knowledge and understanding of EEE and RCRA regulations

    Prior experience in a management position within the cement industry strongly desired

    Bachelors' degree in engineering, mining or chemistry preferred.

    Complete understanding of the cement manufacturing process

    Experience with the latest cement production technology including Precalciner Burning Systems

    Strong knowledge of modern maintenance technology and methods

    Demonstrated ability to optimize production costs

    Knowledge of the industry, marketing, customers and quality products

    Strong analytical and decision making skills

    Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead others

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Ability to work as a member of a team to continuously improve plant operations

    Knowledge of union contracts and/or prior experience working in a union environment a plus.

    Good understanding of safety and environmental regulations.

    Work Environment

    Role operates in a plant manufacturing environment as well as a professional office environment. Plant manufacturing environment includes conditions involving moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
