- Implement behavior plans and skill acquisition programs plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) as designed by a BCBA
- Accurately collect data as prescribed in real-time
- Collaborate with, train, and function as liaisons with outside care providers (e.g. parents, outside agency providers, etc.)
- Collect treatment fidelity data related to the implementation of behavior and skill acquisition plans
- Collect interobserver agreement data
- Present and review client progress with the BCBA
- Implement feedback as provided in a timely manner
- Collaborate with members of clients' clinical team as needed
- Attend meetings as needed
- Arrange environmental variables to increase client(s) motivation and decrease response effort to complete various task(s)
- Collect data and maintain client records in accordance with individualized goals
- Maintain the dignity of the client while assisting with personal care which may include but is not limited to nutrition, personal hygiene, and supporting the client to look his/her best
- Present and review client progress in collaboration with a senior clinician on a regular basis via phone calls, on-site review meetings, data presentations, etc.
- Accurately complete Special Incident Reports (SIR) in a timely manner as applicable
- Utilize public transportation to get to and from various locations while accompanying clients on outings in the community
- Immediately report communication from a caregiver, third-party stakeholders, and/or other relevant individual(s) to the BCBA Supervisor overseeing the case
- Complete all required initial and ongoing staff trainings
- Check and maintain a work schedule
- Adhere to standards for best practices as determined by legislation, industry standards, funding sources, and CABA
- Adhere to ethical practices and core values of CABA
- Fulfill all requirements to maintain a credential as a Registered Behavior TechnicianTM(RBT) set forth by the credentialing body (i.e., BACB), industry standards, funding sources, and CABA standards
- Communicate information and/or issues that arise in a timely manner in accordance with appropriate CABA policy
- Complete other clinical and administrative activities assigned at the discretion of CABA
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree – pay rate dependent on level of education, credentials, and experience
- 3+ years' experience with individuals with severe challenging behavior
- Experience working with adults and/or adolescents with developmental disabilities and other mental health diagnoses
- Reliable means of transportation, valid CA driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance
- Must pass a TB test
- Must pass a criminal background check (FBI/DOJ clearance)
- Willingness and health status to permit working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strength and stamina to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds, walk stand, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time
- Physical capacity to safely push individuals in wheelchairs on a variety of terrains and support individuals with other mobility needs as required
- Passes a Physical Abilities Test
- Paid comprehensive initial and ongoing training program of 40 hours consisting of classroom training, online training, and job shadowing/observation
- CABA sponsors qualified behavior technicians to become Registered Behavior Technician(s) (RBT)
- Pay ranges from $25-27/hr. - pay rate dependent on the level of education, credentials, and experience

The Center for Applied Behavior Analysis (CABA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Support Specialist to join our team of professionals in providing high-quality ABA-based services to individuals of all ages. Our mission at CABA is to improve the lives of our clients by applying evidence-based strategies and principles of behavior analysis. We are looking for a Behavior Support Specialist who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges and who shares our commitment to helping clients reach their full potential.
As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will work closely with our clients, their families, and our interdisciplinary team to assess and develop behavior support plans. You will implement behavior interventions, collect and analyze data, and provide training and support to caregivers and other team members. Your role will be instrumental in empowering clients to achieve their goals, improve their social-emotional skills, and build positive behaviors.
Hours REQUIRED: Monday through Sunday (day hours and late evenings)
MUST HAVE BACHELOR'S DEGREE AND 2-3 YEARS OF MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE.
