    Requirements:

    • This position requires a four-year degree with ten years leadership experience.
    • American Society for Quality – Quality Engineer, Manager and Auditor certifications also desired.
    • This position requires an individual with strong communication skills, ability to lead/facilitate cross-functional teams, and exercise good judgment repeatedly and consistently.
    • Must possess good organizational skills, project management skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks - including follow-up and task completion.
    • Computer literacy, word process skills (MS Word), and spreadsheet skills (MS Excel) are needed.
    • This position requires up to 5% travel.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and direct quality assurance activities and procedures for raw materials, processes, and finished products.
    • Work closely with subordinates and verification activities in handling day-to-day projects, problems, and issues.
    • Confer with the engineering, manufacturing engineering, production control, purchasing, and service personnel in resolving problems relative to product design, specifications, tooling, and production operations affecting quality. Ensure the correct implementation of corrective and preventive actions throughout. Participate in product teams, providing data analysis, and direction for improvement activities.
    • Deal directly with customers on specific quality complaints and problems.
    • Collaborate with other Departmental Leaders/Managers to select and develop key personnel in forming specialized work groups to monitor, evaluate, and improve processes and then be capable of providing performance feedback to appropriate areas. Lead and support the implementation of Quality Engineering methods (SPC), Six Sigma, and Lean to ensure processes are capable.
    • Oversee the control of inspection and testing equipment. Ensure equipment and outside services are obtained to support inspection and testing activities. Maintain calibration of inspection and testing equipment (including software). Develop and maintain procedures, instructions, methods and workmanship guides for gage control and calibration activities are created and implemented. Manage Inspection Supervisors. Manage department projects and workloads.
    • Process and approve employee paperwork to include vacations, personal leave, accident reports, return-to-work forms, employee improvement forms, etc.
    • Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews.
