    Description

    Space Ops Systems Engineer Required Qualifications:

    • Currently possess a minimum of a Secret Security Clearance.
    • Previous experience with satellite BUS/Payload Subsystems.
    • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with limited direction.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse integrated team of contractors, subcontractors, and Air Force personnel.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Availability to work some shift work and weekends specifically for anomaly resolution and special test events.
    • Overtime, travel, and shift work required as needed.
    • Available for year-round support on-site, within a 75 minute recall radius to Schriever SFB.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4 years of professional experience
    Master's degree with 2 years experience
    The successful candidate will function as an on-site Resident Technical Advisor as part of the Site Sustaining Engineering Team at Schriever Space Force Base for a communications satellite constellation
    This role will provide day-to-day technical support to multiple SOPS in the areas of satellite bus and payload
    The Resident Technical Advisor will offer support for current mission objectives, conduct seasonal satellite performance evaluations to evaluate key data and determine operational efficiency and longevity, and provide recommendations to the Air Force on satellite operations to optimize effectiveness and minimize adverse effects on the DSCS mission
    They will provide engineering and operations technical advisory support to the Air Force crews, engineers, and leadership, including on-console support for complex vehicle activities
    The Resident Technical Advisor will also provide spacecraft engineering support to the Air Force to resolve operational problems and vehicle anomalies, and act as the primary point of contact for SOPS for maintaining the health and status of the constellation

    The successful candidate must have a strong background in satellite operations, with previous knowledge of satellite subsystems and command and control.
