- Contact patients via phone, email, or mail to collect payment for services rendered.
- Review and analyze patient accounts receivable to identify outstanding balances.
- Resolve any billing or payment discrepancies with patients, insurance companies, or other third-party payers.
- Educate patients on insurance coverage and payment options, ensuring they understand their financial responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Insurance and Legal accounts receivable teams.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding patient balances, applying appropriate collection strategies as needed.
- Update patient records and billing systems with accurate and up-to-date information
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.\
- Knowledge of computer programs.
- Knowledge of business office procedures.
- Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system·
- Skill in answering a telephone pleasantly and helpfully.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be well-organized and detail-oriented

Summary of duties:
Responsible for analyzing patient accounts, assisting with questions, and payments, and following up on outstanding patient balances.

Environmental/Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs dictate.
Physical Demands :
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity is needed for using a calculator and computer keyboard.
