    Ancora Engineering PLLC is a team of design professionals which provide engineering services for the development and construction industry throughout New York City. Our services include new structures, support of excavation, shoring and bracing, demolition, and protection systems; building condition assessments; special inspections; construction monitoring; and forensic engineering.

    Ancora is seeking a motivated Civil / Structural Engineer – Entry Level to 2 years of Experience to join our progressive team at our offices in New York, NY. We offer mentorship by our professional engineers; a challenging, growth-oriented work environment; and an abundance of opportunities to expand engineering knowledge and skills, build professional relationships and become immersed in NYC's construction industry. We offer hands-on engineering field and design experience that will prepare you for the PE exam.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will...

    · Work as overall structural lead on assigned projects reporting up to supervising engineers.

    · Perform structural analysis and calculations.

    · Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings, designs and plans.

    · Review of designs, drawings and calculations.

    · Perform field investigations and site visits to oversee projects.

    · Prepare reports and other technical documentation.

    · Lead or participate in project meetings and conference calls.

    · Manage project documentation and status.

    · Attend training programs and acquire certifications.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bachelor's degree in civil and/or structural engineering. Master's degree preferred.

    · FE/EIT certification

    · Sound comprehension of structural engineering principles.

    · Working knowledge and experience with structural design.

    · Ability to work with structural analysis software preferred, e.g., RISA, ETABS, STAAD PRO, SAP.

    · Familiarity with construction drawing standards; and experience preparing design drawings.

    · Excellent attention to detail, organized and strong problem-solving skills.

    · A self-starter, and team player.

    · Ability to communicate effectively with clarity and concision, both verbal and written.

    · Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    · The position is full time and requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
