Job Description

**Infection Prevention Specialist**

Under the supervision of the Infection Prevention Coordinator, you'll implement and monitor the Infection Prevention and Control Program of Marin General Hospital.

You'll work closely with hospital staff, physicians, and external organizations to minimize the risk of acquiring new infection for patients, staff, and community.

**Responsibilities:**

Coordinate hospital activities related to surveillance, prevention, and control of infection.
Assist in maintaining compliance with standards and regulations pertaining to infection control.

Requirements

**Education:**

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of training and certifications.

**Experience:**

2-5 years of progressively responsible Occupational Health or Infection Prevention experience working in an acute care hospital or health care setting.

**Licensure and Certifications:**

Clinical Lab Scientist or Registered Nurse required at hire.

**Prerequisites:**

Ability to work collaboratively with hospital staff, physicians, and external organizations.
Understanding of adult learning theory, management theory, and project or change implementation.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Data management skills, including collecting, analyzing, and presenting data.
Knowledge of TJC, CMS, OSHA, and Title 22 regulations.
