    As the Sr. Product Manager for Gaia GPS, you'll own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our premier mapping properties. You'll collaborate with engineering, marketing, editorial, studios (Watch/Video), and product design to bring amazing mapping experiences to life and work with cross-functional partners across Outside to learn, iterate, and shape the direction of the product over time.

    What you will do:
    • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Gaia GPS' mapping properties and ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision of inspiring people to get outside.
    • Help guide the vision of our mapping platform so that we can build amazing social, planning, and scalable services that bring Outside Mapping into the future.
    • Deeply understand customer needs, and be the champion and voice of Outside's users.
    • Write product briefs and user stories, and collaborate with your partners in marketing, engineering, and design to ship features that we are proud of and that our members love.
    • Make tough tactical prioritization decisions, balancing short-term needs with long-term product direction for our brands.
    • Define and own the metrics of success. Evangelize those metrics throughout the company, and use them to drive insights and new product hypotheses.
    • Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to effectively build, launch, and communicate new product features.
    • Discover and validate new product opportunities for Outside.
    • Help us achieve our vision and execute our strategy by uncovering and developing new ideas for our brands.
    • Provide strong mentorship, guidance, and leadership to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development while ensuring a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
    This describes you:
    • You have 7+ years of product management experience, working on consumer applications where you've demonstrated your ability to discover, define, and deliver products.
    • You have a profound background in user-facing applications with a significant portion of your career dedicated to taking products from inception to deployment and measuring their impact. Your expertise in this area is extensive, reflecting your deep experience and involvement in the field.
    • You have experience in owning the P&L for specific business units.
    • You have experience with customer research and know how to get feedback at the right time from the right customers to help inform your product decisions.
    • You have demonstrated experience collaborating closely with product designers and engineers to ship high-quality products that delight users.
    • Your strong commitment to user experience shines through in your work, as you genuinely care about creating exceptional mobile and web experiences. You have a keen eye for detail and appreciate the significance of the "little things" that contribute to making the reading experience delightful for users.
    • You have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • You have experience with modern software development and delivery practices.

    • You have a systematic approach to designing customer-facing features focused on user experience, leveraging your expertise to enhance user engagement, monetization strategies, and overall customer satisfaction.
    • You possess hands-on experience with OpenStreetMap, ESRI, or consumer/enterprise mapping applications.
    • Hands-on experience solving and understanding complex geospatial challenges.
    • Knowledge of at least one programming language.
    • Ability to write SQL queries or knowledge of comparable business analytics tools.
    • You have a solid background in working with geographic content, including maps, trails, map layers, and mapping products. Your experience encompasses products where maps play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional user experience, particularly in the context of outdoor adventure. Your expertise in this area allows you to effectively integrate and optimize map-related functionalities, enhancing the overall user experience and ensuring seamless navigation in outdoor settings.
    • You have a systematic approach to designing consumer products, leveraging your expertise to enhance user engagement, monetization strategies, and overall customer satisfaction.
    • Your expertise lies in seamlessly integrating video, audio, and written content to craft captivating and immersive experiences that cater to a diverse readership/membership base. Through your experience, you have demonstrated a deep understanding of how these different content formats can complement each other, resulting in compelling and engaging experiences. Your ability to curate and present content across various mediums fosters a dynamic and inclusive environment that appeals to a broad range of users or members.

    Remote jobs and those jobs that can be located in Boulder, Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $130,000 to $180,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and many more. The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for this role, and may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
