    Description

    Summary:

    A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for thedelivery of patient care through the process of assessment,diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. In addition,the Registered Professional Nurse prescribes, delegates,coordinates, supervises and evaluates patient teaching and theactivities of the ancillary nursing personnel while maintaining thestandards of professional nursing. The Registered Nurse is able toprovide direct and indirect care to patients.

    Requirements:

    A. Education/Skills

    Graduate of a State Board School ofNursing or equivalent.

    B.Experience

    Two (2)years Medical Surgical experience preferred.

    C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

    Current RN license or permit topractice professional nursing in the State of Louisiana.

    American Heart Association BLS – within two (2) weeks ofemployment

    Current ACLScertification at time of hire or within 12 weeks of hire forexperienced RNs or completion by the end of the clinicalorientation period for new graduate nurses and maintaincertification thereafter.

    Current Arrhythmiarecognition at time of hire or within 8 weeks of hire forexperienced RNs or completion within 6 months for new graduatenurses. Maintain certification thereafter.
