    Job Description:
    The Anatomy Instructor participates in the delivery of lecture and laboratory material (gross- and micro-anatomy) for the Form & Function courses to first year veterinary students in the veterinary professional curriculum; assists with the preparation of all teaching materials related to the assigned teaching responsibilities; conducts scholarly activities; mentors professional and graduate students and contributes service at the department, school, and university levels.

    Job Responsibilities:

    60% - The instructor participates in the delivery of lecture material and the laboratory anatomy courses to first year veterinary students in the veterinary professional curriculum.

    25% - The instructor assists with maintaining and preparing all teaching materials related to the assigned teaching responsibilities; this includes prosecting and embalming anatomical specimens.

    10% - The instructor mentors professional and graduate students and contributes service at the department, school, and university level.

    5% - The instructor conducts scholarly activities. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    DVM or equivalent and 1+ years of teaching experience in gross anatomy lab/ lecture settings.

    Degree Substitute - Ph.D.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Ph.D in Veterinary Medical Sciences and 1+ years of teaching experience in gross anatomy lab/ lecture settings.

    Special or Physical Qualifications:

    *Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67.

    FERPA - As with all LSU employees, due to this position title and/or responsibilities, this position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center.
