The purpose of the UNC School of Law Office of Advancement is to support the mission of the law school by securing resources of time, talent and financial commitments from alumni, friends and other constituents to support students, faculty, programs and facilities.
Comprised of principal gifts, major gifts, annual giving, alumni & donor relations, and advancement services, this dynamic team of connects the law school community through events, volunteer opportunities, stewardship, communications, and fundraising.
The Advancement Services Coordinator, will oversee and manage several key areas in the UNC School of Law Advancement Office.This position is responsible for the annual stewardship project, a task that requires project management skills, cross-collaboration with our finance and student services offices, as well as communications and marketing skills to put together materials.
This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the following major giving activities:prospect management (including leading team meetings), fundraising administrative work, donor/volunteer communication, gift processing, board/committee meeting preparation, and data management.
This position will also serve as a liaison with the University Development Office regarding gift processing of major and planned gifts and prospect management data preparation and reporting.
This role is well suited for someone who is eager to learn the intricacies of working with major gift donors throughout the cycle of giving from prospecting to stewardshipPosition Summary
The Advancement Services Coordinator will oversee and manage several key areas in the UNC School of Law Advancement Office.
This position will be responsible for fundraising administrative support, gift processing, weekly stewardship, firm campaign operations, advancement committee support, donor/volunteer communications support, alumni relations support, gift processing, board/committee support, data management in the university's constituency management system, DAVIE, day-to-day advancement office management, and serve is the key liaison with the University Development Office regarding gift processing, gift/pledge corrections and constituent records in DAVIE.
Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to lead and manage teams with individual expectations, deliverables, and accountability as well as inspire team collaboration.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple advancement activities simultaneously and coordinate development strategies in collaboration with law school and university partners.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
High level of creativity, initiative, and motivation. Team oriented and willingness to set a leadership example for all members of the advancement team.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer a candidate with prior administrative experience in fundraising in a higher education or non-profit setting. UNC DAVIE constituent database experience a plus, familiarity with UNC preferred.
