    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    We are currently seeking a full-time STRUCTURAL PROJECT ENGINEER to join our structural team. Our team works with State and Local Government on bridge and culvert related projects.

    We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills to assist our current staff in serving our clients.

    This position will collaborate with our structural team members across our organization.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Structural design and detailing for bridge, building and/or other structures
    Work with teams participating in planning, design and construction of structural projects, with future opportunities to lead project teams
    Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
    Periodic on-site construction observation
    Inspection and load rating of in-service bridges

    REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
    5 years or more experience in structural engineering
    Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
    Solid written and verbal communication skills

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
    Experience with Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) projects and procedures
    Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design code
    Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
    Experience with hydraulic design for bridges and roadway design
    Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD

    Field:
    Frequent standing, walking and bending. Occasional climbing, pushing/pulling, lifting/lowering up to 40 lbs.

    Office:
    Occasional climbing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/lowering 5 to 20 lbs., and repetitive motion with hands, wrists, or arms. Frequent sitting, walking and use of computer/keyboard. Much of the day – standing/sitting computer/keyboard use.
