    Are you ready to lead a dynamic team at the forefront of technology and justice? The California Department of Justice is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Bureau Director for our esteemed Technology Support Bureau (TSB).

    About Us: Under the guidance of the Assistant Chief of the California Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, the Technology Support Bureau (TSB) is dedicated to providing cutting-edge infrastructure services to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS). Our mission encompasses managing critical software systems, network services, and more, ensuring the smooth operation of essential justice initiatives.

    Position Overview: As Bureau Director, you'll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of technology-driven justice in California. You'll lead and oversee the Strategic Transport & Technology Services Branch and the Production & Network Services Branch within the TSB, comprising approximately 135 positions and managing a budget exceeding $20 million. From formulating and implementing policies to advocating legislative solutions, you'll be instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency within our organization.

    Desirable Qualifications: We're seeking a leader with a blend of experience and expertise, including:

    • Proven track record in managing and supervising large, highly technical teams
    • Strong background in policy development and implementation within data processing and the criminal justice system
    • Extensive knowledge of network, hardware, storage, software, and communications systems
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between governmental agencies, law enforcement, and other key stakeholders
    • Experience in technology assessment, evaluation, and modernization
    • Deep understanding of the Department's mission, goals, and impact on the California Justice Information Services Division

    Minimum Qualifications:

    CEA examinations are open to all applicants who possess the knowledge and abilities, and any other requirements as described in the examination bulletin. Eligibility to take a CEA examination does not require current permanent status in civil service.

    Classification: Bureau Director, Technology Support Bureau (C.E.A., B)

    Compensation: $14, $14,242.00 /month
