    As a vital part of our team, the Quality Control Inspector will be instrumental in inspecting and ensuring the integrity and quality of our metal fabrication processes. This role involves detailed fabrication inspection duties, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Some assistance with manufacturing flow, efficiency, troubleshooting, and logistics, as needed. Our products range from large, welded steel structures and aluminum components to smaller weldment assemblies, all engineered and manufactured in-house. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for the thorough inspection of all fabrication processes and outputs, from initial materials through final product checks. Other duties, including, but not limited to production and project deliverables. Working in a team environment and building strong working relationships is desired in this position. Must be able to perform physical tasks required by the position.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform daily quality inspections of welded steel products and document findings, ensuring they meet both internal specifications and industry codes.
    • Oversee and ensure adherence to AWS, ASTM, and other relevant standards during the fabrication process.
    • Manage dimensional, welding, and material inspections across various production stages.
    • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
    • Support manufacturing flow and logistics, including material receiving and verification.
    • Assist in maintaining Welder Maintenance Logs and coordinate Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities.
    • Ability to use a variety of inspection techniques, including visual inspections, dimensional analysis, and non-destructive testing methods like radiographic and ultrasonic inspections.
    • Engage in the training and certification of welders and fabricators.
    • Knowledge of robotic and automated welding technology and processes.
    • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to enhance product flow and assist with logistics and material handling as needed.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in metal welding and fabrication.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and technical documents is extremely important to this role.
    • Strong knowledge of welding processes and familiarity with manufacturing machinery such as press brakes, plasma tables, shears, mills, lathes, and welders.
    • Current or previous certification in welding standards (AWS D1.1, or similar) preferred, along with knowledge of other similar codes.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting fabrication drawing packages and weld symbols.
    • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Problem solving and mentoring in a team environment, along with the ability to build strong working relationships is desired.

    Education:

    • Technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
    • Continuous professional development in quality inspection and metal fabrication processes.
