    Job Overview

    Title: Communications & Fundraising Associate

    Location: Washington, DC preferred (hybrid), Puerto Rico or LATAM.

    Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000

    Job Purpose

    Friends of Puerto Rico, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development and revitalization in Puerto Rico, is seeking a highly motivated Fundraising and Project Manager to join our team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to strategically lead key fundraising and project initiatives from Washington, DC or remote in Latin America and Puerto Rico.

    About You

    • Proven experience in fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector.
    • Strong proposal writing skills and donor relationship management experience.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently
    • Previous knowledge in project management and understanding of best practices in the field.
    • Strategic Fund Development:
    • Design and execute innovative fundraising strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of Friends of Puerto Rico's programs and projects.
    • Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to ensure financial support for organizational programs and initiatives.
    • Donor Relationship Management and Identification:
    • Identify and cultivate strong relationships with individual, corporate, and institutional donors, ensuring a steady flow of revenue.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors to secure funding and support.
    • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects, ensuring adherence to objectives, timelines, and budgets.
    • Plan, execute, and evaluate projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, and budgets.
    • Collaboration and Integration with Departments
    • Collaborate closely with other departments to integrate fundraising into strategic planning and program development.

    • Proposal Development and Grant Writing:
    • Identify grant opportunities and strategic partnerships, draft persuasive proposals, and manage the entire grant submission process.
    • Prepare persuasive grant proposals and funding pitches to secure grants and donations from various sources.
    • Grant Management and Reporting:
    • Manage the grant application process, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and reporting on grant outcomes.
    • Communication and Representation:
    • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both English and Spanish, to represent Friends of Puerto Rico to donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
    • Effectively communicate the organization's mission and fundraising needs to stakeholders through written and verbal communication in both English and Spanish.
    • Remote Work Management:
    • Work autonomously and manage tasks remotely, maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines.
