    Eaton's Connected Solutions organization, part of the Assemblies and Residential Solutions (ARS) group, is currently seeking a CAD Designer to join our EVCI (Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure) product development team.

    This position is based at our Peachtree City, GA facility.
    The expected annual salary range for this role is $63,749 - $93,499 a year.

    The Connected Solutions team is expanding its portfolio of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure products in the North American region and we're looking for experienced talent who will directly participate in developing CAD models and design documentation for a variety of applications in a diverse, team-based environment.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for creating CAD solids models and drawings of components and assemblies, working with team members to analyze and document critical feature dimensions plus tolerances, interpreting requirements and specifications to create sketches, layouts and drawings of raw materials/parts/assemblies, preparing bills-of-material and product cost data gathering, drafting wiring diagrams and schematics, creating drawings for technical publications, and participating in other design-related activities as assigned.

    The EVCI team develops mechanical enclosures, interconnect wiring, electronic control hardware, firmware, software, APIs, mobile applications, and multiple electrical power management systems designed to interface with electric vehicle OEMs, electric utilities, plus customer types including homeowners, site owners and third-party integrators.

    The EVCI CAD Designer works with the engineering and marketing teams with input from customers to develop Eaton's EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) solutions tailored to a variety of applications and use cases for Eaton's and our customer's systems.

    This individual will be responsible for creating CAD models, documenting designs, plus participating in the development, and testing of innovative solutions which bring together integrated electric power management components in creative ways to solve key customer problems.

    Prepare CAD solid models and drawings with complete documentation of components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
    Produce design layouts and documentation for the construction and testing of prototype models and evaluate designs for fit-up into high level assemblies and systems, perform tolerance stack-ups and analyses to avoid clash and interference over the operational range of the product application, and other design/drafting tasks using CAD tools including SolidWorks and Creo
    Use DFMA processes to tailor designs to the appropriate manufacturing method including sheet metal, plastics, electrical wiring, electronic control boards, and related componentry
    Apply a high level of attention to detail and develop high quality documentation in a timely manner to meet project timelines
    Investigate multiple sources of information (marketing, regulatory compliance standards, manufacturing methods, and engineering technologies) that will aid in developing thorough documentation
    Prepare drawing releases for all new and revised drawings through an Enovia PLM and ECO process Assist with concept and prototype testing of products under development and provide feedback to the team with improvement ideas
    Provide technical assistance to internal and external team members, suppliers and manufacturing sites
    Associate's degree in Mechanical Design Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Aided Design/Drafting or similar from an accredited institution AND Minimum of 1 years of experience in CAD solid modeling and 2D drafting of components, assemblies and systems, BOM preparation and tolerance stack-up analyses OR An Associates Degree or higher from and accredited institution and thee (3) years technical experience
    Prior experience in creating CAD models of sheet metal and plastic parts
    Prior experience with MS Office tools including Excel, Powerpoint, Word
    Three plus (3+) years of experience in advanced CAD solid modeling and 2D drafting of components, assemblies and systems, BOM preparation and tolerance stack-up analyses
    Three plus (3+) years of experience in creating CAD models and drawings of injection-molded plastic parts and formed sheet metal parts
    One plus (1+) year of experience with creating CAD documentation for electronic circuit boards and electrical wiring/routing in accordance with industry standards
    Experience with UL and NEC regulatory compliance standards and/or electrical codes for circuit protection, V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything), HEMS (Home Energy Management Systems) and/or EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) systems is a plus
    Ability to organize and follow thru to assigned work with high accuracy and efficiency, participate in a highly-collaborative team product development environment, and to work on multiple detailed CAD modeling and drafting assignments for different V2X systems and applications
    Demonstrated basic understanding of the product development process with the ability to complete assigned work to meet project timelines
