    Job Description

    As the Manager, Manufacturing Quality, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance in all aspects of our manufacturing processes. Your expertise and leadership will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our reputation for delivering reliable products to our customers.

    Responsibilities

    Safety
    • Lead the quality organization under the philosophy of 'safety is our overriding priority'. This includes participating in STOP audits, addressing reported incidents, and participating in both the Health & Safety Review Board and its subcommittees.
    Quality Processes
    • Represent the 'Voice of the Customer' in the facility
    • Own the Facility Quality System
    • Lead the transition to a fully functional ISO-9001 system
    • Create and support process auditors and audit teams
    • Lead the Plant's quality documentation process including record retention matrix, document control, and local work instructions
    • Act as the liaison to corporate groups such as, supplier quality, design quality, new products, and represent Sanford in the creation of the Global Operations Quality strategy
    Process Quality
    • Lead the Plant in measuring and improving the process quality while addressing gaps to targeted goals
    • Partner with Process Engineering and Production to rapidly respond to quality problems; develop containment plans (protect the customer), corrective actions, implementation of long term solutions, and validation of sustainment of corrective actions
    • Partner with Process Engineering to implement and maintain process documents (i.e. Flow Diagrams, PCP, PFMEA's) for all processes
    • Support and leverage lesson's learned across the facility
    • Oversee the metrology and calibration lab
    • Define, measure, and provide countermeasures on manufacturing process audits
    • Partner with Engineering and Production on the Cost of Quality measure and its gaps (i.e. scrap, cost of failure, etc.) including setting annual forecasts
    • Create and lead audit team(s) to audit all departments for adherence to the Quality System
    Product Quality
    • Lead the disposition of quality problems as they relate back to supplier components, manufacturing execution or product design
    • Act as the liaison to supplier quality in the area of supplier component concerns
    • Act as the liaison to CQI in the area of consumer concerns
    • Own the design, application, and calibration of all gages and measurement systems used to ensure product or component quality
    • Oversee the Product Performance Testing lab. Ensure compliance to all product regulatory requirements. Maintain Lab Certification
    New Product Quality
    • Ensure APQP documents are completed for all newly launched projects
    • Support PPAP process of all new products introduced to the facility, including: product performance, meeting cosmetic requirement, etc.
    • Ensure Lessons Learned are applied to new product designs
    Organizational Development
    • Oversee a high performing team of Quality Engineers, Lab Managers, hourly Technicians
    • Interview, hire, and train Associates. Plan, assign, and direct work. Appraise performance; reward and discipline Associates. Address complaints and resolve problems
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree is required
    • Minimum of 8 years of quality or product development experience in a lean high volume manufacturing / assembly is required
    • Demonstrated track record of management experience in a quality or engineering function
    • Knowledge of ISO-9001 or equivalent quality systems implementation and maintenance
    • Strong problem solving skills through disciplined processes (6 sigma, Shainin, DOE, etc.)
    • Must have the ability to:
      • Build strong relationships with external and internal customers
      • Conduct Product Performance Testing
      • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
      • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
      • Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis
      • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
      • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • Carry out management and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
