    Summary



    JOB SUMMARY Supervises the maintenance and repair of all refrigeration containers, generators and equipment related to the refrigeration department in the Port of Palm Beach, on the road and Miami locations.

    Prioritizes and schedules the daily activities of maintenance personnel ensuring all goals, key performance indicators (KPI), fueling, pre-trip, washing and repairs are conducted as per company and regulatory standards.

    Measures and reports departmental activities and develops process improvements. Assists in the purchase of new equipment.

    JOB SCOPESupervise nonexempt employees. Assists in Refrigeration Maintenance Department preparation of operating and capital budgets.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrioritizes and schedules work for refrigeration maintenance. Evaluates equipment repair and maintenance practices. Gives technical advice and assists in the coordination of repairs. Coordinates timely, efficient and cost-effective equipment maintenance, repairs and refurbishments to maximize uptime of equipment according to company standards. Ensures compliance with industry, safety, and environmental regulations.

    Evaluates labor needs, workload, productivity, repair, and maintenance requirements for all refrigeration functions in the Port of Palm Beach and Miami warehouse locations.

    Utilizes Maintenance Management System to capture all parts and labor used in maintenance of assets. Reports KPI's monthly to management. Provides advice and collaborates on equipment acquisitions and repositioning to meet needs of US and outport operations.
    Benchmarks shop and individual performance to established KPI. Selects, trains and develops subordinate personnel for promotion and advancing in technical skills.
    Performs managerial and supervisory functions including budgeting, performance reviews, salary changes, job status and scheduling.
    Negotiates service contracts with service providers. Ensures compliance with company ethics policy and standards. Implements departmental policies and changes. Develops new procedures for company and department personnel regarding reefer department and equipment.
    Looks for opportunities to improve departmental processes related to equipment preventive maintenance , reliability and availability.
    Maintains and keeps track of vendor's invoicing, codes and submits invoicing to Tropical accounting.
    Performs all other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION,
    EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:
    High School Diploma or equivalent


    EXPERIENCE:
    3 years shipping and manufactured reefer equipment maintenance in a supervisory or lead capacity. Trade or technical school certificate repair or related field preferred.


    LICENSE:
    Valid local driver's license and valid Passport

    TRAVEL:
    5% Travel to other Tropical Shipping locations.
