    GEO Heat Exchangers, LLC was started in 1996 in order to fill the need for a high quality, fast turnaround heat exchanger repair and fabrication facility. The success and growth over the years has G.E.O. poised for continued growth and success in the future.

    The Senior Estimator has overall responsibility for the management of accurate cost estimates for current and potential projects.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    · Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.

    · Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.

    · Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.

    · Creates job folders.

    · Reviews customer specs and understands scope of work to bid.

    · Executes take-offs of construction documents.

    · Inputs take-offs into computer spreadsheet.

    · Obtains pricing for materials.

    · Obtains bids from subcontractors.

    · Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.

    · Makes an estimate where predetermined standard(s) are not available.

    · Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.

    · Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.

    · Attends departmental meetings as required.

    · Photocopies documents and plans.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    · Evaluate material specifications

    · Interpret drawings and/or engineering requirements

    · Read blueprints and understand customer specs and drawings

    · Compute cost estimates for fabrication or engineering projects

    · Understand customer/ASME code

    · Advise clients on financial matters

    · Compile data for financial reports

    · Prepare quote reports

    · Prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs

    · Use computers to enter, access and retrieve financial data

    · Use statistical cost estimation methods

    · Analyze technical data, designs, or preliminary specifications

    · Estimate production costs

    · Identify supplier with best bid

    · Prepare cost estimates

    · Use cost benefit analysis techniques

    · Convert design specifications to cost estimates

    · Estimate cost for engineering projects

    · Understand engineering data or reports

    · Estimate materials or labor requirements

    · Estimate time or cost for installation, repair, or construction projects

    · Read specifications

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    · 3-5 years of experience in an Estimating Role within the manufacturing environment

    · 3-5 years of experience with the manufacturing of shell and tube exchangers or a closely related industry within the custom heat exchanger fabrication environment

    · Strong organizational and self-management skills
