- Cardiac surgery and valve clinic
- Have completed a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP)-accredited ultrasound program and hold certification through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Have received training in cardiovascular sonography and possess extensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and physics
- Can conduct echocardiographic studies in various settings, including at the patient's bedside, and assist immobile/disabled patients
- Are capable of making medical judgments and decisions in emergencies
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and maintain a professional demeanor
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Are required to earn 30 continuing medical education credits every 3 years to maintain the ARDMS credential
