    About the Job:

    As our Safety Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising project safety, accident, and fire protection programs to ensure compliance with corporate, federal, and state standards. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the field, conducting assessments and actively engaging with crews, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. You will serve as a key resource for safety-related information on the project, playing a critical role in promoting a safe and secure work environment for all team members.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with site supervisory personnel to identify and address unsafe working conditions promptly.
    • Provide coaching to site teams and employees on hazard identification and elimination techniques.
    • Work closely with frontline teams and management to develop effective methods and practices for hazard elimination.
    • Conduct regular walk-through inspections and assessments of construction areas to identify potential hazards.
    • Engage with crews and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safe work practices.
    • Investigate all incidents and safety exposures, utilizing Root Cause Analysis and Five Why Analysis methodologies to identify underlying causes.
    • Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspectors on site tours, ensuring compliance with regulations.
    • Ensure all safety documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Participate in daily project safety discussions with Site Managers and Superintendents.
    • Review safety documentation with site supervisory personnel to ensure completeness and accuracy.
    • Lead incident investigations and implement preventative measures at the highest level within the hierarchy of controls.
    • Collaborate with supervisors to manage injuries, mitigate claims, and reduce costs.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local occupational physicians, EMTs, fire departments, and law enforcement officials.
    • Manage the safety budget associated with the project effectively.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field (preferred).
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation (preferred).
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management.
    • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in incident investigation techniques and safety management systems.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
    • Proven track record of implementing successful safety programs and initiatives.
    • Experience in leading and coaching teams on safety best practices.
    • Familiarity with safety budget management and cost control measures.
