Job summary
A service technician is needed to inspect diagnose and repair domestic and foreign vehicles accurately efficiently perform routine maintenance services including oil changes tire rotations brake service fluid checks conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections identify necessary repairs repair or replace engines transmissions steering systems suspension components braking systems electrical systems perform advanced diagnostics using computerized diagnostic equipment scan tools troubleshoot complex mechanical electrical issues drivability concerns interpret technical manuals wiring diagrams manufacturer service bulletins conduct emissions safety inspections in compliance with state regulations perform engine performance testing analyze fault codes calibrate reprogram vehicle control modules when necessary follow OSHA shop safety procedures at all times properly handle dispose hazardous materials oil coolant batteries ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications quality standards communicate repair findings recommendations clearly to service advisors customers provide accurate labor time estimates parts requirements maintain professional appearance positive customer interactions mentor support apprentice junior technicians complete work orders inspection reports warranty documentation accurately maintain tools shop equipment good working condition keep work area clean organized stay current automotive technology ongoing training certifications ASE manufacturer certificationsJob description
