    Social Work Supervisor II (Adult Services)

    Anson County Department of Social Services Salary Grade: 70

    Hiring Range:
    $47,847 - $50,239 (Hiring Range is for candidates who meet/exceed the minimum qualifications)


    General Description of Duties


    This position is primarily responsible for supervision of staff in the following programs: Adult Services, Work First Services, Child Care Services, Program Integrity and Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Services.

    The worker is responsible for the supervision of the Adult Services Unit.

    The programs consist of Adult Services, which includes Adult Protective Services, Guardianship, Representative Payee, Adult Home Specialist, Work First Employment Services which helps able bodied Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients become self-sufficient through employment; Work First Emergency Assistance and General Assistance which provides assistance with past due rent and utilities; Child Care Services which provides subsidized assistance for child care to families; Program Integrity which involves investigating fraud or alleged fraud cases in the Economic Services programs; and Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Services Intake which provides assistance to individuals/families in need of transportation to/from authorized Medicaid covered services.

    The position screens Child Protective Services referrals in the absence of the Children Services Supervisor and rotates On-Call back-up with the Children Services Supervisor.

    The employee will provide any requested assistance to the department when the department is required to operate a crisis shelter.

    This position assigns cases to subordinates, coordinate workflow operations, and supervise staff through case review and consultation. Also, the position is responsible for staff training, resolving problems and ensuring quality services are provided.

    Ability to supervise, train, or orient social workers or other staff and to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and to plan and execute work effectively are essential skills for this position.


    Minimum Training and Experience


    Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a master's degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling; or four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
