    Summary



    This Program Analyst, GS-0343-7/9/11 DE is located in National Science Foundation. It applies qualitative and/or quantitative analytical techniques and information management skills to capture, assemble, and disseminate data about assigned projects. This position may be filled among many of the directorates and offices across NSF. For more information, see the duties section.

    Duties


    In the performance of work assignments, the Program Analyst conducts analyses, prepares evaluations, coordinates activities, and provides advice to management for one or more of the following areas:

    Project Management:

    • Plan, develop, implement and track project plans, guidelines, budgets, procedures and timetables.
    • Perform management studies to evaluate and measure the progress and success of projects and recommend changes in policy and management activities.
    • Collect pertinent statistical data and narrative information from a variety of sources and apply analytical techniques to data management systems to identify patterns and trends and develop tracking and reporting systems to monitor activities.
    Financial Resources Management:
    • Administer budget operations and analyze and prepare reports of expenditures and projections.
    • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
    • Ensure financial regulations are adhered to.

    Business Process Management:

    • Restructure work processes, standardize procedures, and manage changes across an organization.
    • Evaluate effectiveness of administrative procedures and their contribution to organizational goals and objectives and make recommendations as necessary.
    • Run routine reports and analyze data as required.
