- Must be able and willing to follow instructions from the classroom teacher
- Must be able to work with students within the general education and special education classroom settings
- Must be able and willing to follow an established academic/behavioral program
- Ability to perform verbal and physical de-escalation techniques consistent with CPI Crisis De-escalation (training offered)
- Must be reliable and have a good attendance history
- Must be able to work with all elementary age children
- Ability to provide and apply consistent behavioral management best practice to assist in student growth and development
- Must be very patient, kind, and courteous and able to work with a variety of individuals.
- Tutor and/or supervise individuals and small groups
- Implement behavioral plans as developed by the IEP team
- Assist in transportation of selected students (as needed)
- Assist children with educational, physical (toileting) and emotional needs
- Be responsible for students during unstructured time, reporting to the classroom teacher
- Be flexible to necessary changes in job responsibilities
- Champion and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
