- Conduct thorough cardiac assessments, including medical history review, physical exams, and diagnostic tests interpretation.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with cardiac conditions, in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations.
- Prescribe medications, adjust dosages, and monitor patients' responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on cardiac health, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Provide follow-up care to monitor patients' progress, address concerns, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiac care through continuing education, conferences, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards of practice, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and documentation guidelines.
- Master's degree or higher Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) from an accredited program.
- Current certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-AC NP or Acute Care NP), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in cardiology.
- State licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience in cardiology or a related field.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret complex cardiac tests and imaging studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
