    Job Description

    General Purpose of Job:

    Operate radiographic equipment including CT or Mammography, to produce clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.Essential Duties:

    This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Registered in CT.
    * Take x-ray images of specified body/parts as ordered, following established procedures. Prepare patient and adjust equipment. Position and instruct patient regarding procedures.
    * Obtain venous access for contrast injection if registered in CT.
    * Provide Radiologists with necessary information for exam protocol and interpretation.
    * Greet patients and process orders for patient exams. Respond to inquiries concerning the activities and operation of department by referring to established policies and procedures.
    * Perform imaging in PACS environment including digitizing films for viewing, interpretation and storage on PACS.
    * Transport patients.
    * Use immobilization devices in accordance with standard practice. Lead protective devices to protect parts of the body not in the central ray and to reduce exposure to radiation.
    * Provides educational and training expertise as needed to support the community based Radiological Technology program and other school system initiatives.

    Job Requirements

    General Requirements
    • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
    • Verbal ability to read and understand professional and technical radiology and medical materials pertaining to machine operation, exposure, and developing of radiographs.
    • Spatial ability and perception to visualize relationships of internal organs in order to produce diagnostic radiographs.
    • Position requires self-discipline.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • A high degree of personal motivation.
    • Excellent teamwork skills.
    • Specialized training in CT or mammography.
    • Trained in proper technique for injecting contrast media and procedures employed in the event of contrast reaction (if registered in CT).
    • Knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position. the skills and knowledge need to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience. Work Experience
    • 1 year of radiology experience. Education
    • Graduate of an approved school/program of Radiological Technology. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
    • Registered by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) (R) and (CT) or be willing to take the certification boards for the Computerized Tomography modality within 1 year of hire date.
