- Diagnose and repair various diesel trucks, earth-moving machinery, and paving equipment
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to the company fleet
- Ability to read schematics and tech manuals, use the internet to resolve issues
- Types of repairs may include but are not limited to:
- Roadside / onsite breakdowns
- Electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic systems
- Transmission rebuild/replace
- Engine rebuild/replace
- Air conditioning
- Adhere to all safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in diesel mechanics is preferred.
- 5 years relevant mechanic experience
- Lift up to 100lbs
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the asphalt and paving industry
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy equipment repair
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to operate heavy equipment for diagnostic purposes (if applicable)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to safety and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must have essential tools to perform a job
- Certified Diesel Mechanic is a plus
- Valid Class A CDL is a plus
- Ability to work 5-6 days a week, 8-12 hours a day
- Compensation and Shift Schedule
- April 1st - December 1st 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Mon-Fri (current schedule)
- December 1st - April 1st, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
- 45-50hrs/wk to be expected during 5-6 days/wk
- 16 years or older
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
