About the JobPostdoctoral Position
An immediate position is available in Dr. Guedes Laboratory at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. We are an interdisciplinary team working on developing strategies to mitigate opioid use and the impact of opioid overdose.
The successful candidate will be directly involved in studies aimed at developing and testing opioid-mitigating immunotherapies and devices in large animal model systems.

This position is eligible for individual and dependent health care plans that include medical, dental, disability, and life insurance benefits.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a DVM (or equivalent), MD (or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in anesthesiology of small and large animals or a closely related field, and demonstration of scientific productivity through previous publications.
Prior experience with animal behavior studies, immunology, imaging and/or electrophysiology, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and cell culture is highly desirable.
About the DepartmentThe Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department provides instruction to veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students.
We also improve the health of companion animals by educating veterinarians, providing medical and surgical services, and generating new knowledge through clinical research.
Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members are responsible for a significant portion of the clinical training program for third- and fourth-year veterinary students, as well as small animal internship and residency programs.
Research
Faculty and staff are actively involved in clinical and basic research, as well as specialized programs such as the Animal Cancer Care and Research program, Minnesota Urolith Center, and Surgical Research Laboratory.
Service
Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members provide clinical services in the Veterinary Medical Center and offer consultations and continuing education programs for practicing veterinarians in the community.
