- Administer and maintain Linux systems (Oracle Enterprise Linux, RedHat, etc.), including tasks such as filesystem maintenance, user and group maintenance, configure disk partitions, LUNs, RAID, multipathing, backups, patching, and upgrading.
- Develop and implement network security measures, including the configuration of firewalls and the restriction of subnets to specific locations.
- Provisioning new networks, configuring subnets, implementing security, and setting up VPN connections.
- Play a pivotal role in building and securing networks prior to and during migrations of client data to Oracle systems.
- Create and maintain virtualized environments in Oracle Cloud.
- Balance between Linux system administration (70%) and network tasks (30%), with flexibility to focus fully on networking during critical periods.
- Collaborate with other administrators and technical teams to enhance system and network security and efficiency.
- 3-5+ years of practical knowledge in Linux system administration using various flavors of Linux.
- Ability to work with various authentication models (LDAP, Kerberos, NIS) and Linux security configuration options (SE Linux and audits).
- Proficient in designing and implementing networks with experience in TCP/IP, subnets, DNS, load balancers, IPSEC tunnels, etc.
- Solid understanding of network security principles with the ability to configure and manage security solutions such as firewalls, WAFs, Access Control lists, routing tables, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Experience in securing networks and managing enterprise-level Linux environments.
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the foundational principles underlying system and network administration tasks.
- Proactive, eager to take on new challenges and enhance personal and organizational capabilities.
- Exposure to OCI and AWS.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Related Linux certifications would be preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting occasional client-related travel as well as on-call activities as needed.
- Ability to obtain a Government security clearance (US Citizenship is required).
