    Strategic Finance Co-op

    Do you like distilling complex problems into actionable solutions? Are you able to quantify costs, understand their business impact, and communicate the tradeoffs? Do you want to use data to identify key opportunities and drive multi-million dollar investment decisions for Wayfair's various business segments? The Strategic Finance team owns all forecasting and financial reporting for our growing global business and acts as a strategic partner to each of our business units to ensure we are supporting Wayfair's growth while also making sound financial decisions for the business.     What You'll Do:
    • Prepare financial analyses/models to support leadership decision making
    • Support ad-hoc analytical requests both from finance and stakeholder teams
    • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business, communicate variances over time, and partner with senior leaders to drive improvements
    • Automate dashboards and monthly reporting materials (including historicals & forecast) for leadership meetings through Google DataStudio & Looker
    What You'll Need:

    Basic Qualifications
    • To be a current Junior or Senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a relevant field (eg.finance, economics, business, analytics)
    • The ability to commit to working 40 hours/week (Monday -Friday, 9am-5pm) from July 8 to December 20, 2024 in our Boston office
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Interest in a Finance role that is strategy focused
    • Ability to work in an environment that requires being a self starter and team player
    • Proficiency in working with large and/or complex data to drive actionable insights in at least 1 of the following (a) Excel or Google Sheets and (b) SQL, GBQ, or an equivalent
    • Ability to simplify complex data, identify core themes, and provide actionable solutions (e.g., critical thinking & problem solving skills)
    • Detail oriented and enjoys tackling new challenges
    • Be able to effectively communicate both to leadership within the Finance team and stakeholder teams

    Wayfair Co-op Program Overview

    Based in Wayfair's Boston headquarters, Our co-op program is a six-month, full-time, paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December Through the co-op program, students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. While the majority of Wayfair co-ops join directly from an academic program, some co-ops join us from varying professional and academic backgrounds seeking a six-month professional experience. In addition to exciting project work, Wayfair co-ops have the opportunity to build their professional networks, take advantage of training offerings, and attend social events throughout the program.

    An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

    All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and work remotely the other 1 day of the week.
