    Squatch's Legal Counsel, you will be a key leader in our Legal team.

    Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, this is a high visibility, high impact role, working directly with the business teams to define and build the commercial legal strategy for Dr.

    This role is for someone who is a understands contracts and the legal department's role to empower the business' growth while mitigating risk.

    You will be responsible for partnering with our marketing, sales, technology, and other business teams to develop and deliver efficient, scalable approaches to commercial matters.

    You will be directly responsible drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a majority of the commercial contracts with Dr.

    You should enjoy close collaboration with legal and non-legal colleagues and generally, approach legal issues practically and with a problem-solving mindset.

    This role will report to the Head of Legal.
    This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based out of Marina del Rey, CA. The current hybrid plan is to be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
    Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

    Lead drafting and reviewing contracts, including service agreements, SaaS agreements, DPAs, contractor agreements, employment agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, retail agreements, NDAs, and policies.

    Manage legal aspects of business transactions, ensuring adherence to company policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
    Help create forms and systems for contract review management.
    Work collaboratively with business teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
    Support senior attorneys with litigation matters.
    Stay up to date on legal developments relevant to the company's industry.
    Maintain accurate and organized legal files and databases.

    Assist with a wide variety of projects that may come up in the legal department, which might include privacy counseling, employment counselling, advertising review.

    Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
    At least 2 years working in a corporate legal department - Ideally, both law firm and in-house experience.
    Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor.
