Job Summary
Directs the operations and activities of an Auxiliary Services function including staff supervision budget development and administration planning and program management Under limited supervision monitors wide range of self-sustaining revenue-generating auxiliary enterprises internal service organizations university Develops coordinates administers contracts products services auxiliary services within University organizational structure Manages monitors operations KSU Spirit Bookstore Food Services Printing Services Vending
Services Campus Card Works closely Student Housing Athletics units coordinates assists planning management campus events Assists overall business strategies self-sustaining revenue-generating auxiliary enterprises service activities ensure fiscal stability Supervises evaluates Auxiliary Services unit supervisors Works closely Auxiliary Activity Managers establish operating goals budgets meet goals followed by supervision activity's performance toward accomplishment approved goals Participates Quarterly Reviews budget status Auxiliary Activities Analyzes recommends approval rejection internal contractor requests deviations contract specifications delivery schedules Analyzes price proposals financial reports data determine reasonableness prices reviews interprets contract provisions achieve cost efficiencies reductions feasible Assess contractor service value product/service reliability relative cost customer service plans organizes coordinates acquisition alternatives as appropriate Develops implements administers communications programs function Serves primary liaison contracting representatives ensure compliance contract specifications resolution problems issues arising may arbitrate claims complaints occurring performance contracts Continually monitors evaluates contractor performance against contract specifications recommends remedial action necessary Knowledge Skills Abilities Required Ability create compose edit written materials Excellent oral written communication skills i.e ability communicate effectively verbally through written correspondence communicating individuals one-on-one situations Requires precise command grammar punctuation spelling correct usage English language Must adept consistently multitasking accurately attending detail Strong interpersonal communication skills ability work effectively wide range constituencies diverse community Knowledge general accounting principles procedures systems documentation Information research organizing coordinating skills Demonstrated ability maintain confidentiality Skill budget preparation fiscal management Knowledge costing pricing methodology Ability make administrative procedural decisions judgments Knowledge contract documents specifications Contractor compliance issues procedures applicable public institution Knowledge procurement rules regulations Ability assess contract compliance product/service quality Resolve customer complaints concerns Develop maintain recordkeeping systems procedures Performs other duties assigned Qualifications Bachelor degree at least 5 years experience directly related duties responsibilities specified Working Conditions Work normally performed typical interior office work environment No very limited physical effort required No very limited exposure physical risk KENTUCKY STATE UNIVERSITY Equal Opportunity Employer functions qualifications knowledge/skills physical requirements listed job represent essential duties which incumbent must perform either with reasonable accommodation Job Functions listed do not necessarily include all activities individual may perform
