- Responsible for the activities and work efforts of employees assigned to a specific shift or operation. Supervisors may be expected to routinely function as staff. Typically reports to a Director. Is an active advocate of Blessing Health System in the community.
Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Director, the Supervisor ensures productivity and quality in job performance in congruence with the goals and objectives of the individual and the department. This oversight will be addressed through the supervision of processes and systems which will optimize reimbursement and cash flow with high sensitivity to our corporate compliance guidelines. The Supervisor will act as a liaison with Patient Access, Health Information Management, Care Management, Information Systems, and any other department as needed regarding issues affecting the proper and timely billing and receipt of payment on accounts.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. All ICARE standards must be consistently demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other applicable policies are required. - Education/Training/Experience:
- REQUIRED:
- Two years of college-level coursework in a business or related field.
- Five years of related experience, of which three must be in a supervisory capacity in a healthcare patient accounting department.
- Must have demonstrated ability to plan, organize and supervise clerical staff in a stressful environment, be able to communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of hospital staff, physicians and general public.
- Knowledge of healthcare billing and requirements, maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times, works collaboratively and supports efforts of team members, demonstrates exceptional customer service and is able to manage change within the department as well as mentor the staff.
- Ability to work independently, research for problem resolution and ability to respond to customers in a timely manner.
