    Job Description

    The primary responsibility of your job position is to obtain required information and admit residents in an efficient manner following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Working with residents and families on admissions 85% of time
    • Interview residents, guardians, family members or responsible parties and obtain required admission information and signatures
    • Give tours of the facility to all interested parties including residents, family members and community referrals sources and guests
    • Provide residents with admission information packet (e.g., resident rights, notice of privacy practices, admissions contract, etc.)
    • Collect, assemble, and check admission papers
    • Admit residents in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Prepare identification records for residents
    • Maintain a current listing of all residents and assigned room numbers
    • Track inquiries, denials, rejections, admissions and related information into the appropriate programs
    • Abstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companies
    • Review and explain to the resident, and /or guardian, room rates, billing procedures, guest privileges, resident care procedures, etc
    • Maintain a resident waiting list
    • Work with the Administrator to identify and develop an Admission Support Team, to include Administrator, department heads, etc
    • Assist with implementation of the Marketing Plan tactics to include special events targeted at community education, establishing facility as the expert in skilled nursing, specialty programs, and rehabilitation care
    • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction surveys
    • Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors
    • Perform all other duties, as assigned

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    • Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration
    • Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university is preferred, but will consider an Associate's Degree with related clinical experience
    • Two (2) years' experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

    JOB TRAINING:

    • How long it usually takes to completely perform this job when the incumbent has the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, work experience and/or education: up to 6 months

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Works in all areas of the facility
    • Moves intermittently during working hours
    • Is subject to frequent interruptions
    • Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances
    • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc
    • Communicates with the maintenance personnel, nursing staff, and other department supervisors
    • Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary
    • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
    • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants
    • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
    • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals

    PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
    • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which includes a mental and physical examination
    • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
    • Must be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
    • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

    OTHER:

    • This is a full-time position with benefits
    • Must maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado driver's license
