    SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST lONG TERM SUBSTITUTE

    Certificated positions are based 180 Student Contract days with additional 3 days of State required Professional Development days. Additional (optional) Professional Development and Implementation days are offered and will be used to improve student learning. Educators will be compensated in accordance to educator per diem rate of pay and paid as worked.

    • Additional $2300 special education stipend.
    • School Psychologists receive a supplemental contract for 10 additional days that are calledared and worked before and after the base contract year.

    DESCRIPTION

    A school Psychologist works within the educational system to help children with emotional, social, and academic issues. The goal of school psychology is to collaborate with parents, teachers, and students to promote a healthy learning environment that focuses on the needs of children.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Valid Washington State ESA Psychologist Certificate required. Information on obtaining an ESA certificate may be found here and here
    • Expertise in writing IEP's
    • Experience in multi-disciplinary team participation.
    • Ability to design, evaluate and monitor student special education programs for students with communication and language disorders.
    • Successful school experience/internship.
    • Understanding of Washington State's Essential Academic Learning requirements.
    • Knowledge of Special Education law.
    • Strong communication skills are essential.

    Benefits include paid sick leave and Washington State Retirement plan. This position is projected to meet the minimum hours worked of six hundred thirty hours of employment in a school year to qualify for SEBB benefits.
