    Actnano, Inc. is a dynamic materials startup in Cambridge, MA. With a strong global technical team, we develop and manufacture coatings that protect printed circuit boards in electronics, allowing them to function in water-laden environments. We work with the biggest brands in the consumer electronics and automotive industries to increase product reliability and improve product performance in wet and humid conditions. Not only do we provide a portfolio of coatings, but we also work closely with our customers to help solve some of their most difficult problems through rapid innovation and ingenuity.

    About the Role

    We are looking for a Senior Product Development Engineer/Scientist to join our talented and diverse technical team. This position will focus on developing new platform technologies for environmental protection and implementing with our customers.

    As a Senior Product Development Engineer/Scientist, you will:

    • Develop functional materials, test methods, and implementation solutions for addressing environmental protection of electric vehicles, ADAS systems, and consumer electronics;
    • Mentor technicians and co-ops on execution of experiments towards coating development;
    • Collaborate effectively with various functions within actnano like sales, technical services, manufacturing, and operations on new product launch;
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on coatings under development and participating in developing strategy for implementing coating solution at customer;
    • Expand actnano's intellectual property portfolio by innovating current or new coatings and application technology;
    • Work autonomously on open-ended projects ranging from new coating development to creation of novel application techniques;
    • Communicate technical advances and project strategy internally across a global team comprising technical team members and sales;
    • Maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables for staying accountable on product launch strategy;

    Who We Need

    Our ideal Senior Product Development Engineer/Scientist will possess the following experience and skills:

    • M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering or associated technical field;
    • Industry experience or work with application or development of coatings is preferred;
    • Detail-oriented and committed to producing high quality deliverables (even when deadlines are tight), and comfortable with the agility and ambiguity of a startup environment;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
