Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Certified Dietary Manager to oversee and coordinate our dietary services within a healthcare or assisted living setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nutrition, dietetics, and management, with a focus on delivering high-quality meal planning and nutritional care tailored to diverse populations. As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will ensure compliance with health regulations, supervise dietary staff, and develop care plans that promote optimal health outcomes for residents or patients. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive dietary programs aligned with individual care plans and nutritional guidelines.
- Supervise dietary department staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to ensure efficient operations.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine dietary needs, including specialized requirements such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation considerations.
- Oversee meal preparation, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality control, and proper handling of food items.
- Manage budgeting and inventory control to optimize resource utilization while maintaining high standards of service.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans that incorporate nutrition, physiology knowledge, and health coaching strategies.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory standards related to assisted living facilities and healthcare nutrition practices.
- Supervise the preparation of specialized diets, including tube feeding and other therapeutic nutritional interventions.
Requirements
- Certification as a Dietary Manager (Certified Dietary Manager credential) from an accredited organization.
- Proven experience in dietary management within assisted living or healthcare environments.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition science, physiology, dietetics principles, and care plan development.
- Experience supervising dietary staff and managing departmental operations effectively.
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and specialized nutritional interventions such as tube feeding.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluation of dietary needs in collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Skills in management tasks including budgeting, inventory control, and staff leadership.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on health coaching and team collaboration.
