- Monitor daily workflows associated with insurance follow-up.
- Resolves and follows up on challenging, problematic, and unresponsive accounts as necessary; escalates critical or ongoing issues to Director.
- Works with accounting staff to identify overpayments and provide refunds.
- Ensures all employed physicians maintain proper credentialing with payers as required by contracts.
- Oversees and monitors accuracy in the charge master system.
- Receives and resolves customer inquiries and requests and ensures that all inquiries and complaints are handled in a professional manner.
- Works with department director in interviewing and selecting staff and assisting in their onboarding to the department.
- Works with staff to identify, analyze, and correct operational problems with patient accounts.
- Monitors staff work time and attendance.
- Effectively supervises and directs all areas of registration and communication to ensure exceptional quality, productivity, and customer service.
- Plans and maintains all department staffing schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Completes quality control reviews weekly and provides continuous guidance and feedback to employees.
- Ensures all code responses are prompt and accurate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Three years of experience in the medical billing field preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Patient Access or five (5) years of customer service experience required.
- Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent customer service skills, including but not limited to: a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy and a helpful, professional attitude both in person and on the telephone.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and the general public verbally and in writing.
