    SUMMARY:
    The Production Planning Manager under direction of Plant Director is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities to ensure optimal utilization of resources and timely delivery of products. This role involves coordinating with various departments, such as Production, Procurement and Quality to streamline processes and meet production targets.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels and production capacity.
    • Developing and maintaining production schedules for all machines, balancing capacity and demand to optimize workflow and minimize bottlenecks.
    • Collaborate with Purchasing, SIOP, Product Management and Sales teams to develop accurate demand forecasts and production plans.
    • Facilitating communication between various departments such as Production, Purchasing, SIOP, Product Management, Sales and Logistics to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
    • Allocating resources such as manpower, materials, and equipment effectively to meet production targets while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements in production planning and execution.
    • Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure that production processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production planning and provide regular reports to management on performance metrics.
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies in all production planning activities.
    • Lead and motivate the production planning team to achieve departmental goals and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.
    • Utilize ERP systems (SAP) to track and manage production data, forecast demand, and optimize resource allocation.
    • Analyze production data and key performance indicators to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize production processes.
    • Identify production bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and issues, and implement effective solutions to improve production efficiency and quality.
    • Develop and implement long-term production strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends to drive continuous improvement and competitiveness.




    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Production Planning Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination, and evaluation of the individuals within their team and carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, directing work and appraising performance.


    COMPETENCIES:


    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to coordinate production activities and resolve issues in a timely manner.
    • Lead and motivate a team of production planners to ensure alignment with production goals and objectives.
    • Adapt quickly to changing production demands, market conditions, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
    • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations throughout the production process to deliver high-quality products to customers.
    • Ability to manage and adapt to change within the Manufacturing environment. This includes implementing new processes, technologies, or organizational changes effectively.
    • Being flexible in responding to changes in schedules, production demands, or unexpected events. This includes the ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS


    • Proficient with the use of measuring devices such as micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, and gage pins.
    • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. from an accredited college or university.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment and cable and wiring industry would be a plus.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


    • Production Planning Software and ERP systems (SAP)
    • Lean Basics or Green Belt preferred




    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


    Compensation:
    After thorough market analysis, LAPP takes many factors into consideration when determining base salary such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, etc. of the candidate. The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$120,000 plus participation in LAPP's bonus plan.
