- Performs complex analysis/projects according to research protocols, explaining methods and procedures to other technicians.
- Provides for data entry and current data files on research projects. Monitors data to ensure consistent quality.
- May perform preliminary statistical analysis of data.
- General administration of projects.
- Small animal handling, performing small animal procedures.
- Cell culturing, perform molecular biology experiments, immunostaining.
- Preclinical testing of drugs.
- Assures compliance with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
- Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assists in the training and development of technicians, acting as a group leader.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
- Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
- Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.
- Experience with flow cytometry.
- The position requires collaboration with research groups, so excellent written and oral communication skills are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to growth, attention to detail and a pursuit of excellence.
- Experience with animal handling and small animal procedures.
- Experience with tissue cultures, pathology/IHC.
- Experience with general cell and molecular biology techniques.
- Multitasking skills are highly desired

Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented individual to be involved in research studies at the interface of preclinical imaging, cancer biology, and therapy. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research team involving chemists, biologists, and imaging scientists as part of NIH-funded research on co-clinical trials.
This position independently performs complex research studies, experiments and assays.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
This position works in laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and two years of experience in a laboratory setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling seven years.

Salary Range
$ $31.31 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
