    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Chief of Security, the Security Dispatcher protects the assets of the Tribe by dispatching Security Officers on the Rancheria and other tribal lands to handle incidents and criminal activities, to enforce tribal ordinances and other complaints that are received. The incumbent will maintain a dispatch log of all incoming calls and will make log entries for status/security checks of Security Officers while they are patrolling and investigating incidents/complaints for the security and welfare of Rancheria, tribal offices and tribal lands.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Dispatch Security Officers by radio and telephone to calls of suspicious activities, disturbances, trespassers, tribal code violations and criminal activities.
    2. Prepare activity logs, incident crime reports and other reports, as required, in a complete factual and legible manner.
    3. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual statistical reports for filing with the Tribal Council.
    4. Testifies in court, as needed or other hearings as a witness for the Tribal government in criminal matters.
    5. Attend department squad meetings and training courses as scheduled.
    6. Maintains a working relationship with the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department and other local, state and federal agencies.
    7. Maintain confidentiality as prescribed by local, state, federal and tribal policies, procedures, laws or statutes.
    8. Perform other duties as required.
    Qualifications

    Qualifications:
    1. High school diploma or G.E.D. related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
    2. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    3. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    4. Ability to speak effectively before groups of individuals or employees of the organization.
    5. Ability to type 35 wpm and be proficient in the use of computer word processing programs.
    6. Good Math Skills, ability to add, multiply and divide.
    7. Must be able to prove eligibility to work in the U.S.
    8. Must possess a valid California driver's license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe's driving policy and insurance requirements.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position is deemed a level 1 and requires walking, standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reaching; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 20 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones and small office machines; hearing, talking, and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers.

    Preference in filling vacancies shall be given first to qualified Tuolumne Me-Wuk Community Council Members and then to enrolled Native Americans of any federally recognized tribe.
