    Job Purpose

    Manage NMD Capacity team members to achieve specified aspects/deliverables of a New Model project from start to finish (SOP). Designate, communicate, gather necessary resources, assign tasks, and implement a plan for completing the project requirements on time and within budget. Monitor progress and performance of the team, reporting plan versus actual. Actively participate in team development and growth of associates. Support team members in their resolution of quality and delivery problems by providing support and removing barriers to minimize delays. Coordinate with other Group Leaders in the organization to share resources and best practices. Support project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the team within and beyond the project team. Coach and mentor associates based on their development needs.

    Key Accountabilities
    • Manage NM Capacity team deliverables (Supplier Capacity Verification Check, In-Depth analysis, OEE analysis and optimal process layout for specific NM part or assembly process) to meet project requirements and complete advance planning to best mange resources across NM project scope.
    • Manage NM Capacity team activity for development concerns to assure permanent countermeasure application before mass production start of new models
    • Develop and conduct periodic performance and skill assessment reviews with the team to understand development needs and set future growth plans
    • Report the team's status during periodic checks and evaluations and ensure problems or concerns are quickly escalated per the Unit guidelines where needed
    • Communicate across DEB areas of the business to share ideas and reach consensus. Share team requirements to Department team and suppliers
    • Represent the Unit and/or Department in team meetings, theme activity, and evaluations
    • Mentor associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development
    Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

    Minimum Educational Qualifications:

    Bachelors Degree in; Engineering or equivalent relevant experience required

    Minimum Experience:

    8+ years of experience based on education

    Other Job-Specific Skills:

    Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection molding, paint, casting, machining, etc.)

    Strong project management and problem-solving skills, knowledgeable of Honda system (NARS, CMS, GPCS)

    Job Dimensions

    No. of Direct Reports: 5-10 direct associates

    No. of Indirect Reports: 0

    Financial Dimensions: Manage 50+ suppliers and approximately $50-$300M+ in part/tooling scope

    Decisions Expected
    • Deliver results and technical judgment for part approval for mass production readiness
    • Judge supplier tooling and equipment readiness and incorporation of critical dimension or attribute controls
    • Provide leadership decisions for supplier testing and critical recovery issues in NM development
    • Evaluate and approve supplier countermeasures
    • Set NMD direction for team-responsible items and recommendations utilizing TL for technical matters
    • Provide direction for supplier process and equipment critical quality controls for mass production
    • Deliver judgment for we are ready (WAR), Q-flow, and Eval reports to leadership
    Working Conditions
    • Hybrid work (60% office/40% remote) Travel required 1-2 days/month with some potential for International trave
    • Potential for last minute travel (Crisis support)
    • Overtime: hrs./wk. during peak activity, possible shift time adjustment to support needed activity
