- Administrative or supervisory experience preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree with an academic major in areas including food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field.

- Supervise the Child Nutrition program and staff.
- Recommend the hiring of child nutrition staff.
- Communicate effectively with central office staff, building leaders, employees, other staff, students, parents, vendors and community members.
- Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations governing the preparation, storage and dissemination of food are followed.
- Accountable for the administration of the fiscal budget; supplies and equipment, and safety standards.
- Plan, organize, control and direct district-wide food service operations and programs; develop and implement menus, goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to district food service programs and student diet plans.
- Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations governing the preparation, storage and dissemination of food.
- Accountable for the administration of the fiscal budget; supplies and equipment, safety standards, recommending the hiring of child nutrition personnel and supervision.
- Effectively utilize district technologies appropriate to the position and assume responsibility for attending training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities.
- Establish procedures for proper child nutrition work assignments.
- Coordinate the after school and summer feeding programs.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff and the general public.
- Resolve emergency staff problems.
- Maintain current certification records of certified employees.
- Participate in professional conferences, in-service sessions, etc. to keep abreast of current practices.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others.
- Evaluates and supervises departmental staff.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting.
