    Position Description:
    Technical specialist for paint process. Coordinate, monitor, and perform specialized processes/related functions in an automotive manufacturing environment directly related to paint process engineering. Job requirements include the analysis and improvement of current production processes and coordination of new model and tooling launches.


    Essential Functions:
    Create and maintain new model plans/schedules.
    Track and monitor new model budget; create weekly status reports.
    Review/interpret drawings and schematics as required.
    Review/implement any changes in process/material for cost reduction.
    Work with the Quality team to monitor and verify paint quality during new model launches.
    Implement quality improvement activities for assigned area.
    Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components and systems.
    Study/Recommend/Implement changes to reduce defects in material, method, workmanship, machine, environment, and measurement.
    Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
    Provide technical direction/assistance to identify, troubleshoot problems, purpose countermeasures/solutions and resolve issues.
    Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem solving teams as directed by management.
    Serve as a technical expert for Team Members, Team Leaders, and Group Leaders.
    Coordinate with contractors in a field work environment.
    Investigate project feasibility, scope, and schedule; create process plans, bid packages, and project specifications.
    Report current projects, progress, and issues to management. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality tracking reports and analysis. Prepare presentations and reports as required.

    Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

    Meet all other requirements as assigned.

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent desired.

    Related Experience:

    0 - 10 years job related experience preferred.
    Automotive manufacturing experience desired.
