- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Geospatial Information Science (GIS) laboratory.
- Search and compile geospatial data for projects and generate outputs
- Conduct digital image processing and perform GIS analysis
- Assists in field data collections, conduct lab analysis, and compile results
- Assist students with lab exercises and research projects
- Install and update software
- Print posters
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisors
- Federal Aviation Administration's Remote Pilot certificate is required. If Candidate does not have one, he/she should be able to obtain the certificate soon after employment.
- Experience with software installation and update, trouble shooting and upkeep of GIS lab computers
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed.
- A broad understanding of geospatial information science
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field is required.
- Understanding of geospatial information science is preferred.
- Familiarity with Geospatial Information Science device and software is required.
- Experience with computer networking, software installation and update, and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Driving ability.
- Ability to conduct field work
