- Assisting in evaluating and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in compliance with current regulations and guidelines.
- Ensuring that all nursing services personnel adhere to their job descriptions.
- Reviewing and addressing complaints and grievances filed by department personnel.
- Utilizing your leadership skills to manage an assigned unit effectively.
- Collaborating with the facility's leadership to maintain safe nursing coverage 24/7, minimizing the need for overtime and agency personnel.
- Implementing progressive counseling and, when necessary, recommending or initiating disciplinary action in line with facility policies.
- Providing professional guidance and supervision to both professional and non-professional unit staff.
- Participating in quality assurance activities for the facility.
- Demonstrating, teaching, and evaluating nursing skills used in direct resident care.
- Assuming responsibility for the completion of assessments on the unit.
- Offering consultation in developing and implementing discharge plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Participating in staff recruitment, including assisting in the interviewing and selection of nursing personnel.
- Ensuring residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects individuals' needs and rights.
- Valid NY RN license.
