    Description

    Note: This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in San Francisco, CA (no remote).

    About:

    Our investment is an early-stage BCI wearable tech startup employing an innovative mix of generative AI with recent breakthroughs in material science (patent-pending) for SOTA electronic consumer devices. They are seeking an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join their dynamic team.

    This role focuses on the development and optimization of RF transceiver systems and compact RF design for a wearable device. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RF engineering, with specific experience in transceiver technology and the ability to design compact RF solutions that meet stringent performance criteria.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and optimize sub-10 GHz RF transceiver systems focusing on compact and efficient implementations suitable for wearable devices.
    • Champion the RF design process including concept development, circuit design, component selection, simulation, testing, and integration.
    • Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of RF components into overall system designs.
    • Develop and implement test protocols for RF performance verification, including both bench testing and in-field trials.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues during product development and testing phases.
    • Manage documentation of design processes and results, ensuring all technical and regulatory requirements are met.
    • Stay abreast of advancements in RF technology and continuously explore innovative solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in electrical engineering, specializing in RF/Microwave Engineering or a similar field.
    • At least 5 years of experience in RF circuit and system design, particularly with RF transceivers and compact design techniques.
    • Profound knowledge of RF concepts such as impedance matching, signal integrity, and RF synthesizer.
    • Strong background in RF design tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST or similar.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Schematic design and PCB layout techniques for high-frequency circuits and the ability to resolve complex RF issues. Familiar with tools such as Altium.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven record of innovation in RF design.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Previous experience as a project owner in consumer electronics, having shipped devices from concept to mass production.
    • Previous experience in startups is considered an asset.
