- Responsible for department's daily work and creating and/or executing strategic priorities and department operational plans.
- Supervise and provide coaching and development for employees to ensure employees are engaged and effectively meet expectations of their jobs.
- Budget, monitor and approve operational expenses including training, workforce, and other department expenses.
- Create and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships through internal peer groups / focus groups as well as various industry and/or community organizations both regionally and nationally.
- Monitor current trends and insights brought forward by various surveys or other voice of the employee and member methods.
- Exhibit overall Dupaco Leadership skills such as initiative, change management, and project management.
- Keep abreast of general economic conditions and industry trends and is well-informed about competitive rates, terms, products, and services.
- Research and monitor new loan products and move forward innovative programs to stay competitive within credit unions markets.
- Recommend strategies for new market initiatives, monitor, and grow market share penetration.
- Collaborate with auditors (Internal Audit, Audit Committee, State and Federal examiners, and others third party) and ensure any issues identified are addressed in an adequate and timely manner.
- Responsible for the oversight of vendor partner relationships that provide services that support a high level of member service and ability to meet regulatory requirements as well as Vendor Due Diligence.
- Handle escalated member situations and review member complaints regarding problems with loan application or quality of service.
- Participate in developing and making recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures for mortgage lending, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing and servicing operations, as needed.
- Oversight of the sale of mortgage loans to investor organizations that are serviced according to credit union standards and regular reports are prepared for investor organizations which summarize the status of their account(s).
- Participate in the development of training courses for employees on product knowledge and basic methods of referring.
- Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent experience.
- 7 years Mortgage Lending experience, preferred.
- 5 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Demonstrate complex problem solving and strong decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to gather data from several sources and to represent positively the credit union during such contacts.
- Proficiency in computers; ability to learn in-house application software knowledge and the ability to manage various programs and systems.
