    Programmer/Analyst

    Utilize your system design and development skills to help an established financial services related insurance company leverage their technology investments. Old Republic is seeking individuals with experience in system analysis, design and implementation, relevant to the Visual Studio/Enterprise platforms. This is a high-profile opportunity, with strong user community interaction required to facilitate the design, delivery and maintenance of solid business systems. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Between two and four years in development positions, with demonstrated experience in significant system design and implementation; Experience with the insurance industry is a plus. Projects will entail converting/upgrading from obsolete legacy technologies (FoxPro, MS-Access) to current technologies. Candidate must be open to learning all technologies.

    • Timely Delivery of Legacy to Current Conversion Projects
    • Support Current Applications
    • Problem Analysis and Solution Design
    • Maintain Project and System Documentation
    • Applications Development
    • Management Information Reporting
    • Interface with Vendors and Technical Resources
    • Integration of internal and external (vendor) systems

    Qualifications

    Required Technical Skills

    • Visual Studio (batch programs, web, winforms/wpf)
    • Visual Studio Web Development (HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
    • Visual Studio SSRS
    • SQL
    • PowerShell and DOS commands
    • VBScript
    • Crystal Reports

    Beneficial Technical Skills

    • Visual Studio
    • KIX Scripting
    • Pentaho BI
    • Zena Task Scheduling (or other network scheduling platform a plus)
    • Legacy development tools: FoxPro, Clipper, etc

    Analysis and Design Skills

    • Business Process Analysis and Design (hands-on programming)
    • Troubleshooting and Maintenance proficiency
    • Data Warehouse Concepts and Support
    • Database Design
    • Object Oriented Design

    Business Knowledge

    • Experience with EAS financial accounting system (or other accounting ERP system)
    • Implementation and Support of Enterprise Business Solutions
    • Insurance System Experience
    • Business System Development Experience

    Personal and Interpersonal

    • Time Management skills, including meeting agreed deadlines
    • Ability to work as a development team member and work independently
    • Ability to work with users to define business requirements and design solutions
    • Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
    • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting significant business systems
    • Bachelor degree or equivalent
